Are you worried about your child’s eye health? Wondering how you can improve and increase the health of your child’s eyes? According to Eating Well, your child can improve his or her eye health simply by eating the right types of foods, and here we’ve listed some of those foods that your child should eat in order to keep his or her eyes healthy and strong.

  • Have you child eat plenty of foods that are rich in antioxidants. These include foods rich in vitamin C (broccoli, citrus fruits, kiwi, etc), lutein and zeaxanthin (spinach, collards, kale, etc), and vitamin E (avocados, nuts, vegetable oils, etc).
  • Your child should also eat plenty of whole eggs. Eggs are also rich in the antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin. Make sure you incorporate scrambled eggs into your child’s breakfast regularly!
  • Encourage your child to eat more seafood. Seafood is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help improve eye health. Your child should eat plenty of fatty fish (trout, salmon, mackerel, sardines, herring, etc), as well as shellfish (crab, oysters, etc).
