In this video Vermont Children’s Hospital pediatrician Dr. Lewis First provides simple common sense advice for protecting your children from the damaging effects of the sun’s rays. Diligent use of sunscreen along with sunglasses for the whole family is all you need to keep your children safe from sun damage.

According to Dr. First, children under the age of ten are most susceptible to damage to the back of the eye. Therefore, it is essential that young children wear quality eye protection whenever they are outdoors. He also advocates for liberal use of full spectrum sun screen to protect young skin from harsh UVA and UVB rays.
