When you are looking for sunglasses for your kids, you need to know that shades will keep young eyes safe. Many brands claim to offer high levels of protection, but few have the evidence to back up these assertions. We are proud to announce that Real Kids glasses have received thumbs up from some of the most prestigious organizations promoting kids’ eye health. When you purchase any shades from our collection, you can rest assured that your child will be receiving top quality protection.
Our Seals of Approval
Our commitment to offering 100 percent protection from UVA and UVB rays in all our sunglasses has led to a partnership with Prevent Blindness. Together, we have created Star Pupils branded sunglasses. For every sale of these shades, we will be donating 20 percent of the proceeds to the Children’s Vision Education Initiative.
Melanoma International Foundation
We have earned the seal of approval from the Melanoma International Foundation (MIF), which recognizes that our shades are of high quality and effective in preventing sun damage to the eyes. To achieve this award, we provided scientific data from an independent laboratory that demonstrated that Real Kids glasses protect children from serious and permanent UV damage.
Our My First Shades® line of sunglasses have won the widely acclaimed Media Award for Child Safety from iParenting. This is the first time that kids’ sunglasses have ever won a Media Award from iParenting, and we are very proud to receive such an honor from an organization renowned for using credible and objective methods when choosing winners.
Your kids’ eyes are extremely important; keeping them safe means good vision now (essential for everything from sports to schoolwork) and healthy eyes into adulthood with a lower risk of sight-threatening diseases like cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Kids are never too young to start wearing sunglasses, which is why we offer shades for ages 0+ upward. Find a pair for your child in the Real Kids collection.
