Kid-Approved Fall Desserts

Fall is another great opportunity to get creative in your baking endeavors and incorporate some of the best Autumn flavors into our favorite, classic treats. Accents of pumpkin, caramel, apple, cinnamon, and of course, chocolate will add a hint of Fall to any dessert. Plus, baking with your kids is a great way to spend quality time, allow them to get used to following directions, and reward your hard work with a tasty prize!

  1. Rice Crispy Treats: These tasty treats are a classic, and best of all, they can be dressed up in just about anything to enhance their seasonal appeal. Top your rice crispy treats with white chocolate and candy corn for a Halloween twist.

  2. Caramel Apples: Another staple of the Fall and Halloween seasons, caramel apples are not only a safe bet, but they’re so easy to make. Snag a bundle of your favorite apples from the market, heat some caramel in a sauce pan or fondue maker, dip, and let cool. Coat the caramel with your favorite nuts or candy bits for an added bonus.

  3. Red Velvet Cupcakes: Red velvet is not only delicious, but it fits right in with the deep, dreamy colors of the Fall season. Ice your cupcakes with dark chocolate and draw some spiderwebs in white icing.

  4. Salted Caramel Cheesecake: Salted caramel anything is really popular right now, and its sweet and salty appeal goes right along with Fall. Whipping up your favorite cheesecake, coating the top with caramel, and sprinkling some sea salt is a great Fall dessert for an upcoming get together.

  5. Pumpkin Sugar Cookies: Can you really go wrong with sugar cookies? Following a classic cookie recipe but incorporating a dash of pumpkin spice and cinnamon puts a delicious spin on this dessert favorite. Top with some orange and green icing for a pumpkin design, and you’re ready to go.

  6. Popcorn balls: For a sweet and salty spin on dessert, roll up some popcorn balls bound with melty marshmallow and throw in some chocolate chips and caramel. These are so easy to make and a Halloween favorite.
