What is constantly on the mind of every parent? How to keep their kids healthy. There are many things parents can do to keep their kids well and healthy, and with all the current research opinions on the subject vary. Doctors recently sat down with the Chicago Tribune and outlined two main things parents can do to keep this kids well.
- Eat nutritiously and exercise. Because childhood obesity is at an all time high it is important for parents to teach their children how to eat nutritiously. Childhood obesity increases a child’s chance of Type 2 diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure. Along with eating healthy parents should make sure their kids are active. Obesity is easier to prevent than it is to correct, so eating healthy foods and keeping kids active early on will help them in the long run.
- Get Immunizations. Parents today are more likely to forgo life-saving immunizations for their children. The doctors on the panel believe anxiety over immunization shots stem from the controversy over the link of vaccines to autism. Because it has not been proven, the doctors recommend discussing the matter with your pediatrician because vaccines can be beneficial.
