To spread awareness of the nearly 25,000 children under the age of 15 who suffer from preventable, sports-related eye injuries in the U.S. the American Academy of Ophthalmology has chosen April as Sports Eye Safety Month. Being that it is spring and we are welcoming an array of spring sports April couldn’t be a more appropriate month. Many parents choose to only outfit their children in protective sports eyewear if they are participating in high-risk sports; when in reality many children suffer from sports-related eye injuries even while playing less dangerous sports.
Throughout Sports Eye Safety Month we will be doing our part by bringing you informative tips and facts related to kids and their eye safety while playing sports. Be sure to check back with our blog each and every week because we will also be recommending the best Real Kids Shades options to help protect your child’s eyes while playing sports.
